Mountain Climber
Muscles worked: Abs & Core, Back & Core, Legs & Glutes, Calves
To do a mountain climber, start in a plank with your shoulders over your hands, then drive one knee toward your chest while keeping your hips level, return it, and drive the other knee, alternating with control. It works the core while raising your heart rate.
Keep your hips level and your shoulders over your hands — the moment your hips pike up or sag, the core work is gone. Drive the knees with control at first, and only speed up when you can hold the plank shape.
How to do it
- Start in a plank with your shoulders over your hands.
- Drive one knee toward your chest, keeping your hips level.
- Return that foot and drive the other knee toward your chest.
- Keep alternating with control, keeping your hips level and your shoulders over your hands.
- Only speed up when you can hold the plank shape.
