Box Push-Ups
Muscles worked: Chest · Also: Triceps, Shoulders
Box Push-Ups are push-ups done with the hands on a raised box or step, similar to incline push-ups but usually with a lower, box-height surface. The raised hands make the pressing angle easier than floor push-ups.
Place your hands on the box, step back to a straight plank, and lower your chest toward the box with control. Keep your core braced and your hips level — the box helps your arms, but your midsection still has to hold the line.
How to do it
- Place your hands on a box or step, slightly wider than your shoulders.
- Step back to a straight plank from head to heels.
- Lower your chest toward the box with control.
- Press back up, keeping your core braced and your hips level.
- The box helps your arms, but your midsection still has to hold the line — reset if your hips sag.
