Wall Push-Ups
Muscles worked: Chest · Also: Triceps, Shoulders
Wall Push-Ups are the gentlest push-up variation: standing facing a wall, you place your hands on it and press your body toward and away from the wall.
Stand far enough back that you feel the work, keep your body in a straight line from head to heels, and bend your elbows to bring your chest toward the wall. They are a sensible starting point for anyone building toward floor push-ups.
How to do it
- Stand facing a wall and place your hands on it at about shoulder height and width.
- Step your feet back until your body forms a straight line from head to heels and you feel the work.
- Bend your elbows to bring your chest toward the wall with control.
- Press back to the starting position, keeping your body straight throughout.
- Step further back to make it harder, or closer to make it easier.
