V-Up
Muscles worked: Abs & Core · Also: Legs & Glutes
V-Up is an advanced core exercise that folds the body into a V: from flat on your back, you lift your legs and your upper body at the same time and reach your hands toward your toes.
The move needs both strength and coordination, so start with bent knees if straight legs are too much, and only lift as high as you can while keeping your back safe. Lower back down slowly with control — dropping out of a V-up is where form usually breaks down.
How to do it
- Lie flat on your back with your legs straight and your arms overhead or by your sides.
- Lift your legs and your upper body at the same time, reaching your hands toward your toes to fold into a V.
- Start with bent knees if straight legs are too much, and lift only as high as you can while keeping your back safe.
- Lower back down slowly with control — dropping out of a V-up is where form usually breaks down.
- Keep the movement smooth rather than swinging up with momentum.
