Side Plank Right
Muscles worked: Abs & Core
Side Plank Right is the right-side plank hold: left foot stacked on right or staggered in front, forearm on the floor, body straight from head to heels.
Drive your forearm into the floor and lift your waist until your body is one straight line. If your shoulder complains, shorten the hold or drop to the modified knee version — side planks should challenge your core, not grind your shoulder.
How to do it
- Set your right forearm on the floor with your elbow under your shoulder.
- Stack your left foot on your right, or stagger it in front for balance, and lift your waist until your body is one straight line.
- Drive your forearm into the floor and keep your body straight from head to heels.
- Hold only as long as you can keep the line, breathing normally.
- If your shoulder complains, shorten the hold or drop to the modified knee version.
