Staggered Push-Ups
Muscles worked: Chest, Triceps · Also: Shoulders
Staggered Push-Ups set one hand ahead of the other, so each side of the chest and each arm works slightly differently. You do a set with one hand forward, then switch and repeat with the other hand forward.
The stagger is small — one hand a few centimetres ahead of the other — and your body still holds a straight plank line. Alternate which hand leads across sets so both sides get equal work.
How to do it
- In a plank, place one hand a few centimetres ahead of the other — the stagger is small.
- Lower your chest with control, keeping a straight plank line.
- Press back up without letting your hips sag or twist.
- Finish the set, then switch which hand leads and repeat, so both sides get equal work.
