Side Hop
Muscles worked: Legs & Glutes, Glutes & Hips · Also: Calves
Side Hop is a small lateral jump: you hop from side to side over a short distance, landing softly on one foot and pushing off to the other side.
Land with a soft knee and stay low, like a skater's glide, rather than jumping high. Keep the hops short and quick, and land on the whole foot — this is a conditioning and agility move, so control matters more than height.
How to do it
- Stand tall, then hop to one side over a short distance.
- Land softly on one foot with a soft knee, staying low like a skater's glide, rather than jumping high.
- Push off and hop to the other side.
- Keep the hops short and quick, landing on the whole foot.
