Reverse Crunches With Leg Raised
Muscles worked: Abs & Core, Legs & Glutes
Reverse Crunches With Leg Raised are a harder version of the reverse crunch: one leg stays raised while you curl your hips upward, so the core works against a longer lever.
Keep the raised leg steady and lift from the pelvis, not by swinging the leg. The lift is short — a few centimetres of hip rise is enough — and the slow lowering back down is the part that builds control.
How to do it
- Lie on your back with one leg raised and steady, arms relaxed by your sides.
- Curl your pelvis upward to lift your hips a short way off the floor — just a few centimetres.
- Lift from the pelvis, not by swinging the raised leg.
- Lower your hips back down slowly; the slow lowering is the part that builds control.
- Keep the raised leg steady throughout and switch legs across sets.
