Plank Leg Up
Muscles worked: Abs & Core, Legs · Also: Glutes & Hips
Plank Leg Up is a plank with one leg lifted: from a forearm or straight-arm plank, you raise one leg a short way, hold, lower it, and switch sides.
Lift only a few centimetres — a high leg lift arches the back and breaks the plank. Keep your hips level and square to the floor as the leg rises, and alternate legs evenly.
How to do it
- Set a plank, on your forearms or straight arms, with your body straight.
- Raise one leg a short way — just a few centimetres — and hold briefly.
- Lower it and raise the other leg, alternating evenly.
- Keep your hips level and square to the floor as the leg rises.
- A high leg lift arches the back and breaks the plank, so keep the lift small.
