Lying Butterfly Stretch
Muscles worked: Legs, Inner Thighs & Hips
Lying Butterfly Stretch is a hip-opening stretch done on your back: soles of the feet together, knees falling open to the sides, arms relaxed.
Let your knees drop only as far as gravity takes them, and place cushions under your knees if the stretch feels strong. Breathe normally and hold the position — this is a restful stretch for the inner thighs and hips.
How to do it
- Lie on your back with the soles of your feet together and your knees falling open to the sides, arms relaxed.
- Let your knees drop only as far as gravity takes them.
- Place cushions under your knees if the stretch feels strong.
- Breathe normally and hold the position.
- This is a restful stretch for the inner thighs and hips — never force the knees down.
