Starfish Crunch
Muscles worked: Abs & Core, Legs & Glutes · Also: Back, Calves
Starfish Crunch is a wide crunch: lying on your back with arms and legs spread out like a starfish, you lift one arm and the opposite leg toward each other, then switch sides.
The wide start position makes the core work to bring opposite limbs together, which adds a balance and coordination challenge. Reach diagonally with control, keep your lower back on the floor, and alternate sides evenly.
How to do it
- Lie on your back with your arms and legs spread out like a starfish.
- Lift one arm and the opposite leg toward each other in a diagonal reach, with control.
- Lower back down and switch sides.
- Keep your lower back on the floor throughout.
- Reach diagonally with control and alternate sides evenly.
