Jumping Squats
Muscles worked: Legs & Glutes · Also: Glutes & Hips, Calves
Jumping Squats add a jump to the squat: squat down, then explode upward, land softly, and go straight into the next squat. They turn a strength move into a power and conditioning move.
Land quietly with soft knees and go straight into the next rep — loud, stiff landings mean your joints are taking the impact. Keep your chest up during the jump, and stop for a breather if your squat form starts breaking down.
How to do it
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and squat down with your chest up.
- Explode upward into a jump.
- Land softly with soft knees, absorbing the landing quietly.
- Go straight into the next squat.
- Stop for a breather if your squat form starts breaking down — loud, stiff landings mean your joints are taking the impact.
