Skipping Without Rope
Muscles worked: Legs & Glutes, Glutes & Hips, Calves
Skipping Without Rope mimics rope skipping with no rope: you bounce lightly on the balls of your feet, turning imaginary handles at your sides, as if a rope were passing under you.
Keep the jumps tiny — just enough to clear an imaginary rope — and stay relaxed in the shoulders. The rhythm matters more than height, and small, quick bounces are easier on your joints than big jumps.
How to do it
- Stand tall and bounce lightly on the balls of your feet, turning imaginary handles at your sides.
- Keep the jumps tiny — just enough to clear an imaginary rope.
- Stay relaxed in the shoulders and keep the rhythm steady.
- The rhythm matters more than height, and small, quick bounces are easier on your joints than big jumps.
- Stop if your calves or ankles complain, and keep the volume modest at first.
